A.
Denver North High Class of '84 Registration Page
Q.
Why the need to sign-in or register
before reading classmate bios?
A. It's the
only way to ensure that alumni information is protected from
the general public.
Q. I understand, but is that
really necessary?
A. Between identity theft and people writing
mean/nasty comments - YES!
Q. Most websites are automated, so
why does this one require "approval" first?
A. All we can say is there are literally hundreds
of bogus/phony requests that get submitted on a daily basis.
If we allowed this type of registration automation to take
place, you'd have to sort through it to determine what was
legitimate. Quite honestly, we didn't feel it was
worthwhile to contaminate our database with a bunch of
worthless crap. Furthermore, we have seen websites like
this which carelessly allow people to assume others identities
and wreak havok, shame, embarrassment in other people's lives.
We will not allow that to take place here and we hope you
understand.
Q. When I register, how come I
can't access the system right away?
A. All submissions are queried against the class
of '84 student database and if they are legitimate, will be
forwarded to the website administrators for final approval.
Approval doesn't take long, but give it 24 hours just to be
safe.
Q.
I want to receive reunion info via
e-mail, but don't want my info published.
A. No problem, when
registering you'll have the option of
who can see your bio info.
Q. I want to re-connect with a
classmate...can you give me their e-mail address?
A. No. You
must be registered and the person you are looking for must
grant permission.
Q. Do I have provide my e-mail
address?
A. YES. The reunion committee will no longer send
out invitations or announcements via postal mail, so this will
be the only way we have to keep you updated on future
events. We will also be keeping everyone updated via
Facebook.com - not Classmates.com
Q.
My e-mail address has changed, can I
updated it?
A. There are a few technical reasons why, so in
the meantime, simply contact us.
Q. How can I make sure that I
receive communications from this website?
A. Please make sure that you "whitelist"
northhigh1984.com in your spam filters.
Q. Can I modify or update my bio?
A. Absolutely! We encourage you
to keep the information updated and even hope you'll upload a
newer photo of yourself so everyone can see how you've
changed. The only thing you can not change is the e-mail
address and that's because it's a unique ID that has to be
updated by a site admin.
Q.
My e-mail address has changed, can I
updated it?
A. Your e-mail address represents your unique
USER ID, so we' have to change it for you - simply contact us
and we will update the database. This will become your
new ID.
Q.
I don't have a problem providing
information to the reunion committee, but I'd rather not have
everyone seeing my address, phone & e-mail address. What
can I do?
A. We understand. Once you create a User ID
and Password, you will be directed to a personal profile page
where you'll have the option of not making your information
viewable to fellow students (at the bottom of the page before
you click submit).
Q. How can I ensure that my
information (bio) is protected?
A. First, never give your username/password to
anyone. Second, always LOG OUT!
